I have the same problem. Firefox doesn't work. IE and Chrome do. Have latest Java and Firefox. Have checked for updates, deleted various files, disabled and renabled console, installed manually latest update (again). With no success.

Has anyone got any solutions to this problem?

I find I have the same problem with Firefox. It doesn't work uploading files using the file browser. But when using IE8 uploading using the file browser works fine. The error message with Firefox is that the connection has been lost. Obviously a bug in the Beta that needs ironing out.

Check your java Network Settings in the Java control panel. I was getting a similar error from behind a proxy firewall. After setting Java to use my browser settings it worked fine for me in Chrome and IE.

This is still an open issue. I just upgraded my 210j unit to DSM 3.0 and I cannot upload a file with Firefox 3.6.8 on the Mac using the File Browser.

Any ideas when this will be resolved?

I have tried this with Safari and it works fine.

Few Days ago updated our DS209 to DSM 3.0-1337 and still have the same problem.
Upload with IE is no problem. FIrefox 3.6.10 brings Error-Message. When deinstall Java (not JavaScript) menu looks different but upload works.

Workstation with clean Win7-Installation and no AddOns to Firefox brings no Error despite same Firefox- and Java-Versions.

I have no idea what to do...

Like most of you, i have an error appearing in the Status saying "You are not authorized to use this service" with Firefox. It worked flawlessly with DSM 2.3 and even 3.0 beta i think. I'm pretty sure theres something wrong with filestation beside java to update. It just worked before !

I'm getting the exact same error with latest version of Firefox, "not authorized for this service" when uploading. I can't believe this fundamental error is still around after months and months...Synology, are you listening??

Hi - Looks like this is a long running issue - without any obvious solution?

I have just purchased a DS211j and while I can use file browser to upload without issue in IE I get the same error message as everyone else in this thread when I try using my preferred browser (Firefox).

I tried disabling Java as people above suggested but without any impact.

Any other suggestions or any update on the situation?

Hi,
in Firefox, they must accept cookies of third offerers.
Extras - Setup - Privacy - accept cookies from third offerers.
Now it will function!

Hi Grosi,
Thanks!! for the tip. It worked for me in Firefox 4.0. Synology should add this to their FAQ on their support site.
