.Maildir folder permissions

Postby jayos » Sun Jun 20, 2010 10:36 am

Having trouble sending & receiving emails. Can't connect to server.

Looking at the log files the following line appears:
Code: Select all
dovecot: POP3(user) : stat(var/services/homes/user/.Maildir/tmp) failed: Permission denied (euid=1026 egid=100 missing +x perm: /var/services/homes/user/.Maildir)

permissions for .Maildir are default setting drwx------

Not sure what to do next

Which user does the mailfolder belong to? Should be the same user mentioned in the error message. The one with UserID 1026

Sorry I don't understand.

the mail folder should belong to the user account being used.

e.g
fred@website.com

'fred' is the user account on synology server

Try use 3-rd party package called WebShare Enabler from Merty.

Please verify that User fred really is the one with UID 1026
Code: Select all
cat /etc/passwd | grep 1026 | grep fred

if the command returns nothing then your fred has another ID which is the problem
