411slim > BT HomeHub router > PS3

Hi,

Recently bought my 411slim which is great. However, the NAS is not actually in use for most of the day, and i would like to still have it on, but in hibernation mode.

I have switched off all services; still no hibernation mode.
However last night i unplugged the ethernet connection to my BT Home Hub wireless router, waited 10 minutes, and it went into hibernation mode fine.

So, i know hibernation mode works ok - great. But of course i need to have the ethernet connection there otherwise no point in remote access etc.

What i have noticed is that when the NAS is connected to the router, the LAN light flashes constantly... so i'm beginning to think that it might be the router that's constantly polling the NAS - and therefore keeping it awake?

Just wondering if anyone agrees with this... if so, do you know what i might need to do to tell the router to leave my NAS alone and let it hibernate?! :)

Any help appreciated.

Thanks :D

Hi,
I have exactly the same problem with my DS211 when it's connected to my US Robotics router - it will not hybernate when the LAN cable is connected (constant activity seen on the LAN LED). However when the DS211 is connected directly to my PC via LAN it will sleep. Does anyone have a solution to this?

Thanks.

Likewise I have the 411slim and can't get it to hibernate but its appears to make no differance if it's connected to the BT hub or not. I've tried turning everything of P.C. & Hub it doeasnt make any diffrance. Does anyone know how to check for a fault? The systems only a couple of weeks old.
