Anyone have a fix or solution? I'm searching Google with no luck.

Try changing the static IP of your NAS and media render and go for dynamically allocated IP addresses from your router. This fixed this issue on my network.

I many cases it is because of the quality of the routers supplied by internet providers. How can I say it decently ... 9 out 10 are crap. They are often the cause of the strangest problems, including stuttering of streaming of audio, servers not showing up or randomly disappearing, distorted web based configuration screens. I could go on for a while. I suggest try finding a router of Netgear or D-Link and enable upnp and disable the firewall (for testing purposes). Unreliable routers I have found are Sitecom, Sisco Systems, and Linksys.
Good luck,

Hello Maarten,
I currently have a DIR825 router, and the issues I am experiencing seem to begin since the DSM 4.x version. I've tried everything to make this Media Server work with my Xbox360, which used to work flawlessly prior to the DSM 4.0 upgrade. No setting were changed, no other networking configurations were messed with; just ever since DSM 4.0 my 360 refuses to see my Synology's Media Server so that I can stream movies to it like it did perfectly prior to DSM 4.0!

Just so I understand you say change the Disk Station to use dynamic IP instead of static? What do you mean with media render?
Also, if I change to use dynamic IP how will I access the DS outside my local LAN; at time I use DS Audio on iOS to access my Syn Box on the go for my tunes

You're quite off topic here (it doesn't seem to be a router issue) so I suggest you create new one. In addition please specify which Synology you have (might be relevant) and current firmware running. If you haven't already, update to latest firmware available and run updates for the packages.

PJPro wrote:Sorry. The media renderer is the client. So, in your case, the TVs.
To access you NAS from outside of your LAN I think you could use port forwarding. However, try setting your media devices (TVs and NAS) to use DHCP and see if this causes them to work after power cycling the router, NAS and TVs. If it does work, you could try returning them to static addresses and see if they continue to work. At the very least it may start to narrow down where the issue is. Also, using DHCP from your router will ensure there are no IP address conflicts on the network.
