SHR vs RAID5

Hi all,

Quick Q. 2 things... 1. If I had 4 drives of 2Tb (unformatted), which is about 1.82Tb formatted. Will I get more storage space using SHR or using RAID5 (must be one of these two types of RAID only).

I calculated under RAID5 It was about 5.46Tb, will that be the same/more/less using SHR?

Also, what are the performance differences between the two, is RAID5 better for read access/write or both the same?

As long as all HD are of same size, there is no advantage of SHR over RAID5.
