Hi:
DS Audio will extract the embbeded covers inside the mp3 files as album art.

Thanks

I use MediaMonkey. It's free and it will look up and download album covers for you automatically (if your MP3 is tagged right). If your MP3 is tagged wrong it will let you select the right song from a list and it will automatically populate all the tags and even rename the MP3 files for you. It's a great program.

I haven't been able to view any album art with DS Audio, and I thought my files had the art embedded already.

Is there a setting to enable it? Or will it display automatically if the album art is embedded in the file?

I am in the same situation as the previous poster. I use Mediamonkey to tag my music. It has the album art embedded or stored in the folder as folder.jpg. Most albums have artwork both embedded AND as a jpg, but not all. I use the Synology DS audio app on an Ipod Touch (4G), on my local wifi network, sounds great, all my music seems to be there. But NO album art. None, not a single song. The album art shows when streaming from my DS209+II to my PS3, to my Sonos system and to my Logitech Squeezebox Radio. It seems silly that I only have this problem when streaming Synology-to-Synology...anybody has a clue?

My problem was I was not capable to see the album cover in DS.

This works fine:
- be sure there is the album cover in the same folder than album or music.
- rename it to cover.jpg
- change directory (simply click on another) and click again in previous
- That´s all..
Be sure the cover is not .jpeg. Sometimes "rename" do not change type and you will see "cover.jpg.jpeg". This is not correct and don´t work.
I don´t know if this correct problem on Iphone, any feedback will be welcome.
Cheers...

I've found that some artwork will display with DSaudio, and others do not. If the album artwork that was automatically downloaded by iTunes, DSaudio won't display it at all.

If I manually load the artwork into each track (or a set of tracks at once), the artwork does display, both in Genre view (where you can see album covers), and when you are playing a track from the album (in the lower left corner of the screen).

However, if I manually replace the artwork in a track where the artwork was originally automatically downloaded by iTunes, then the album cover is only visible in Genre view. It will not show up in the lower left corner of the screen when playing a song from the album.

Please Synology, see if you can fix this. I'm using Synology DSM 4.0-2219 on a DS210j, on a 1st generation iPad running iOS 5.1. I'm using iTunes v10.6.1.7 on a Windows XP SP3 machine to add artwork. Note that this version of iTunes embeds the artwork in each music file, instead of storing separate .jpg files.

I experimented a little more -- if I quit from DSaudio completely, then restart it, it will display album covers that I've manually added to each track. However, if I don't manually add the covers to each track, then nothing displays, even if the artwork was automatically downloaded by iTunes.

iTunes treats automatically downloaded cover art differently from manually added art -- there's an option to remove automatically downloaded art which leaves manually added art alone. It would be great if DSaudio could detect and display the automatically downloaded art too.
