Where is configfile for filestation?

Postby axel112 » Wed Apr 04, 2012 9:03 am

Getting an error (435) when trying to customize loginmessage to be blank. Thinking it can be done editing the configurationsfile when logged in via ssh. ;)

The loginmessage is displayed when you've logged out from file station or logging in via ip:7000 and not from within diskstation ui.

You can configure from adminaccount -> controlpanel -> applicationssettings -> file station. But it is there I get the error message.

Ah, never used that before ...

OK, I've found the Application Portal to set up an alias to log in directry to File Station with <IP-address>:5000/file, but I don't see anything about a login message :?

The customizable message is appearing just above the text:
blabla your username and password to log in...

(don't know the exact words in english, mine is showing swedish)

Solved! :D

Modified logintext for filestation "textstring1234567890".

Did a
Code: Select all
rsync -av --exclude "volume1" synoIP:/  mydesktopIP:/path/to/storage

Then did a search for that textstring on mydesktop with
Code: Select all
grep -r "textstring1234567890" /path/to/storage

And out came
Code: Select all
/etc/synoinfo.conf:cfs_message="textstring1234567890"

But be careful! That file contains alot of settings, if not the most part. Don't edit that file unless you have made a backup with
Code: Select all
cp /etc/synoinfo.conf /etc/synoinfo.conf-backup

Strange ; on my login screen it only says "DS212j" above the user and password fields ...
Like this :

(ignore the message, I was trying out something  )

and there's no entry cfs_message= in my /etc/synoinfo.conf
