Video playback via file browser no subtitles when fullscreen

I can log in to my NAS from the internet and play files via the file browser. Even external subtitles work fine.

But when I press the FULLSCREEN button in the player, the video becomes fullscreen with no problem, but the subtitles disappear.

Is it possible to get it to display subtitles (SRT) in fullscreen?

Since my post I have been trying all sorts of settings VLC without any luck. I think the SRT-rendering is done within DSM and not by VLC and therefore the subtitles disappear when you enter fullscreen (ie. VLS is taking over).

Perhaps the solution is to VPN to the NAS and stream from the computer that way.

No need for VPN just get a videoprogram that can stream from webDAV

What do you use for video streaming via WebDAV?

I usually stream to my iPhone/iPad with Airplayer. I dont do it on a pc.
Perhaps you could mount the diskstation through NetDrive and play the movie with your preferred media player.

It seems there's indeed no WebDAV player for PC. I have worked around it through both VPN and WebDAV mounted via Direct NetDrive. Plays perfectly while I'm on the road.

I mount my Disktation through NetDrive and play the video with VLC player or window media player.
