Hi,
Just bought my DS212j.
2x3tb drives installed, brand new, DSM 4 installed.
All seems fine.
I initially freaked out a little as I'm migrating from an HFS formatted 2tb external that contains all the files. One borrowed (brand new) 2tb drive external, one copy of NTFS for OSX and carbon copy cloner later and I have an NTFS version of the 2tb of data I want to move onto the 212j.
So I can't find an option to just 'clone' the drive. So instead I start a file transfer, selecting all the folders and saying 'copy'.
This seems to work for a while - 17% (about 300gb) elapsed. Then it stops. And didn't move.
I cancelled the operation after about 7 hours of it being at 17% and started again with just one of the larger folders. but this is incredibly laborious - is this the correct procedure?
Any ideas how I can work out why it froze? Worried it's going to freeze again.
Also, worryingly; despite being able to view the volume in volume manager and see the size grow as I copy files to it - if I go to File station, options and try to enable the file station logs, it says "there is no volume in your system. Please go to storage manager and create a new volume. (95)".
Ideas?
