Non-authoritative answer:
synology.com    internet address = 59.124.41.242

On my end it's still using dns1.synology.com for name server but it's no longer found.

So the only way I can get to you is to use the servers ip address and it's painfully slow. I rather watch grass grow!

NetBoot-

Thanks for that info, I've forwarded it to the IT department, let see what's going on. This could be related to how some users are reporting the inability to download files....

Where are the actual servers located at? In the US or in Taiwan?

If it's in the US. What is the ip address?

I tried different dns servers on my network over here and I can't find your dns servers.

Code: Select all
>synology.com
Server:  dns.haz.ptd.net
Address:  24.229.54.212

Non-authoritative answer:
synology.com    internet address = 59.124.41.242
synology.com    nameserver = 210.58.100.22
synology.com    nameserver = synology.com
synology.com    nameserver = 203.79.224.30

synology.com    nameserver = 203.79.224.30
synology.com    nameserver = 210.58.100.22
synology.com    nameserver = synology.com

nameserver = synology.com looks wrong, use ip address
or
synology.com nameserver = dns1.synology.com
dns1.synology.com internet address = <your dns ip>

Is 59.124.41.242 a dns server? because that's where it's pointing to now.

You should really use host names for dns so they can be found

synology.com nameserver = dns1.synology.com
dns1.synology.com internet address = 203.79.224.30

Need it for reverse lookup.

I can access the server by http://59.124.41.242 or http://synology.com

synology.com nameserver = synology.com is just pointing to itself and using synology.com internet address = 59.124.21.242 to resolve.

CNAME record for mail.synology.com is fine, but you should really consider using MX records. Even though it's only one mail server, most email systems will do a mx lookup for mail server and this can create problems in the future. You may even be tag as a spam relay.

Update

The only dns server that is working today is 203.79.224.30.

The other two, no response - timeout.

I've got exactly the same problem as netboot: Can't find the server at http://www.synology.com.

It works with synology.com or the ip address but it's a pain to have to retype a page address when I click on a absolute link that links to http://www.synology.com

I'm connecting from the UK via plusnet.com.

On the other hand, It works fine from work (ac.uk).
