Pics of your Disk-battle-Stations!

Postby 247alan » Mon May 21, 2012 8:48 pm

I'm about to move, and, when I do, I want to build some kind of storage for my Diskstation, router, cable modem, UPS, etc.

I'm interested to see how other people have tackled this issue in the past, and I couldn't find any pics that specifically included Synology products...

To start, I'll post a pic of where my DS410 currently sits. Nothing special, but no shortage of monitors... and a drum practice pad attached to the desk! Honestly, I'd rather see how you've got your server and network gear set up in your closet, on your shelf, or wherever you've managed to hide it.

I found some pics of Diskstations in various locations... mostly pretty shabby digs.

...and I see my pic isn't working up there, but, for now, I'm too lazy to fix it.

Hasn't anyone built some custom thing for their Diskstation and the rest?

Yeah, that one has a lot of great devices in it, and the article is pretty interesting... but what about when you move? How do you pack that mess up? And it's hidden in his basement...

Was in the same location as my Synology earlier today as I had to swap out a wireless access point which has been playing up - and I thought of you guys and remembered this thread.

Current setup - could do with tidying up a bit but meh...

Q) how many mice does it take to screw in a light bulb?
A) just 2, but the problem is squeezing them in there.
