"Time Backup" for Windows?

Postby oRBIT » Thu Apr 26, 2012 7:34 pm

I'm pretty much in love with Time Backup on my Synology NAS. It's easy and it's very cool to be able to browse backups day by day.
However, does anyone knows if any software comes close that runs on Windows? I want similar functionality; being able to browse "snapshots" of my backup'd folders in an easy way..

Take a look at Genie Timeline.
http://www.genie9.com/free_products/free_timeline.aspx
I use the paid version, the product gets mixed reviews but mainly positive.
I use this to backup all my PC to my Synology NAS.
So far never had a pc hardware failure so havn't fully tested the restoration facility. Useful thing is providing you don't enable encryption the files they are fully readable in explorer should you need to quickly grab a backup remotely.

So am I !
Personally, I do not need a comparable tool for Windows. All my files are on the NAS, not on the PC(s). PC OS images are backupped to the NAS also (with Acronis, not Time Backup). More and more my PC's are becoming a thin (well: fat  ) client.
