Newest is 2.50 ... I'm still using 2.42-2 (2.50 was reported to have some glitches in the GUI ??) His blog says "Tested with DSM 4.0 2198, on a DS408 and a DS210j. Not tested on DSM 3.x, but it should work." ...

Thanks. So considering DSM 3.x isn't officially supported I should probably hold off from upgrading to DSM 4.x (I'm currently at DSM 2.3) especially since Transmission is my primary app/function?

And which Transmission package did you mean ?? The one I mentioned by Zebulon or the one in the start post by Sarav ?? That one is still at version 2.13 ..

haha, yeah dsm 2.3 on DSM410 - I'm a gotta have the latest and greatest tech guy, but I've adopted the 'if it ain't broke don't upgrade it' mentality lately. techie fatigue I guess

I'm running Transmission 2.04 - not sure of the package developer though

For the record, I'm using transmission 2.33 with DSM 3.2 on a DS410 and it works flawlessly.

Its not just you. There's another user on this forum who also indicates Transmission doesn't run on DSM 4.x. Its essentially why I posted my question.

I have 2.50 running on my DS212j using DSM 4.0-2198 and it works absolutely fine.

trying to use 2.5 om my Synology DS411,
but I can't set the block list.

If I change the example.com with
http://www.bluetack.co.uk/config/level1.gz
and click OK, it reverts to example.com.

Anyone an idea ?

I've been trying to use a blocklist too, but ran into the same problem as you.

it says to use http://www.iblocklist.com/list.php?list=bt_level1 (blue tack level 1) and edit the settings using Internet Explorer as it fails with Chrome !? I'm using Firefox, so maybe some browsers have a problem ... I'll try it this evening at home (forgot to open port 9091).

EDIT: finally got the blocklist working !! I used this in the Transmission settings page :

Blocklist has 226,570 rules

Tried it with Chrome, Safari. Still no go..

I tried to edit the settings.json file with vi from my ssh, changing the blocklist url setting.
When I restart the Transmission package the blocklist url is visible in the preferences but blocklist has 0 rules and when I click the update link the blocklist rules remain at 0....

I did change the settings to activate authentication as was mentioned in the article. That worked..

Any ideas ?

i have the package installed but only see transmission 2.50-1 not 2.60?
is this because i have other packages that might have transmission aswell? (for example i also have superzebulon repo).

You can remove the repo of superzebulon as he also joined the SynoCommunity.

It should be possible to update the Transmission package in the Installed tab of the package manager!
