SSH Tunnel help

Postby spyro » Thu Apr 15, 2010 5:00 am

Dear all,

I need help tunneling ssh on my ds109+.
I have turned on SSH on my ds.
I have downloaded putty.

How do I root log in? Do I need to root log in to ssh tunnel?
I've tired to use putty>ssh>tunnel and that doesn't seem to work.

Please, somebody give me a detailed guide on how to do this, I'd really like to implement this.

Thanks,
Spyro.

SSH in to your NAS via Putty.

Then edit the session....

Session > Connection > SSH > Tunnels

Create a local port e.g. 90
Specify the destination using ip/fqdn following by port e.g. 192.168.0.100:3389 or mypc.domain.local:3389
Keep all defaults - remember to go backup to Session in Putty and save it for future connection.

Example above will allow you to specify localhost:90 for RDP (port 3389 on remote machine).

Hope that helps.
