How to enable the access to all files.

I want to be able to access all files on my DS with DSM 4.0 with a FTP client like Transmit, Cyberduck or ...... Now I only see the Shares I mad myself and not the systemfiles.

I have enabled SSH in the DS. In terminal I did a 'ssh root@xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx' and am able to see there all kind of stuff but it must also be possible using a FTP client. I can do same on other NASses.

Apparently I am missing something, but what?
