I have a request for the RSS downloader:

You should be able to specify, on a feed by feed basis, how many podcasts you wish to retain.

For example:

You have Feed A. You specify it should only keep 5 podcasts.
Download station downloads the podcasts as usual. But when it notices that it has more than 5 it DELETES the oldest ones, so you only ever have max 5 podcasts for that feed.

This means you won't have a folder which slowly fills up with things you never got around to listen to/view.

Of course for another feed you might want to have 10 episodes. Or perhaps disable it entirely, like it is now.
I don't speak English.

What I miss is a "Save-Password" function for the Download Station. There are a couple of download-portals that require you to enter a username and passwort for downloads. The diskstation provides this function but you have to enter it every single time for every new download. Would be great if its possible to store that login-information (or even better: multiple) as other download-managers are doing that already.

Another question: Is there a well functioning Firefox Extension to send download directly to the DS? I've seen it for Chrome but nothing really working for a current Firefox version.

Thanks, I found those links aswell but its not working for me. Just nothing happens when I add a link. People are complaining about the same in the comments of the Extension Page and someone said its not working with the latest FF versions.

It would be nice if synology implement plowshare in download station, in combination with RSS feeds you would have a complete automatic downloader.

To me the new DS was a real dissapointment :(

It's great to see files can be automaticle unzipped, but everyone is using RAR and PAR in Newsgroups :(

So please, it can't be so hard to integrate UNRAR since RAR is supported by default in DSM.
I hope the next version will support unRAR and PAR.

This is a combined request to enhance Download Station to support cookie secured downloads and also introduce a limited internet browser to support the login process for obtaining the cookies

I regularly have to download large software packages (sometimes up to 30GB per product)from companies such as Oracle. These places more often than not require users to log into the web interface first and accept Ts & Cs. As such, currently impossible to download using the Download Station.

Please please please put this in. It would make life so much easier knowing I could just tell my DS212J to go away and download all the packages I need for collection later.

One thing I would like to see to be added to download station is add labels to download tasks
It would be better if synology can implant a smart filter feature, say, if a bt task's tracker contains certain words, it will be automatically labeled 'xxx'.
It would be even better if the 'take certain action' part of smart filter can be more advanced, say, if a task matches certain rules, default download location of this task will be changed to \xxx\xxxxx\, or max speed will be limited to X, or more.

I understand smart filter feature may be very complicated and takes time to develop, but I really hope to see a basic label function added so that I can finally get the over 100 seeding tasks organized in my download station.

Thank you!
