VPN L2TP/IPsec

Postby mankan » Tue Oct 25, 2011 8:11 am

First, I recently bought a Diskstation 211 and it´s really great, thanks!

Are there any plan to add support for l2TP/IPsec vpn? I want to access my NAS from my android phone and it doesn’t support OpenVPN and I don’t feel that PPTP is secure enough. To my knowledge iOS don’t support OpenVPN either so this would be a really appreciated feature for all of us tablet/smartphone users.

Great idea! I'm thinking on the same thing since the first beta VPN Center came out...

+1 I am having the same issue with Android, PPTP just seems not secure enough for a VPN to my NAS.

+1 The only thing my iPad has in common with the DS is PPTP, so I do as much of the VPN access as possible with SSL.

PPTP traffic is now considered unencrypted and IPSEC-PSK is still vulnerable, so I request support for IPSEC in certificate mode (rather than PSK mode).

I started this topic in the VPN Server package forum:
PPTP insecure now, IPSEC needed for iOS devices
