Gate One

Postby kevstev » Wed Nov 30, 2011 7:51 pm

I saw this demo for a project called GateOne: http://vimeo.com/24857127 and it looks very impressive. I currently use ajaxterm to get remote shell access, and it works, but it has some serious limitations.

I am going to try installing this tonight, but I was curious if anyone else has given it a stab and if their experience was good.

After a few attempts at this, I gave up- there are too many dependencies and I am not very in tune with python. I may take another stab when I have some free time. In the process however, I found shellinabox, which is from google. It is a huge improvement over ajaxterm, and while gate one looks like the cadillac of ssh clients in a web browser, shellinabox gets the job done without any glaring drawbacks.

Shellinabox works fine and can be used off-site now since it supports SSL (HTTPS) since version 2.14-6
