DS411Slim webserver: SSD worth it?

Postby BITSthatBYTE.eu » Tue May 24, 2011 11:03 am

For my business I'm planning on buying a DS411Slim to run a website, a few satellite sites, a small webshop and small consumer downloadable diagnostics software. I'm planning on hosting everything, including product pictures, myself.

Is it worth putting one or two 60GB Vertex/Agility/Solid 3 in the DS411Slim? I know the 411 doesn't have SATA3, but with current prices the Vertex/Agility 2 are pretty much as expensive as the 3 series. How much IOPS can the 411Slim handle in the first place?

Or should I go with a totally different setup? The goal is reliability and fast web-hosting.

Btw, I'm on a 120/10Mb internet connection on a EuroDOCSIS 3.0 modem.
