CS-406 and APC UPS ES-650

Postby KWCIndy » Thu Jan 11, 2007 1:22 pm

I can report success with recognition of the APC BACKUPS ES-650 using the data USB connection to the CS. Parameters appear in the CS interface and give me battery level and expected life. BUT I haven't unplugged the UPS to test the shut-down feature yet... :?

I have noticed that it seems you need to "re-enable" the UPS each time you disconnect/reconnect, but now that I have everything hooked up and stabilized, that shouldn't happen too often. This may be expected behavior, but don't forget about it.

FWIW the ES-650 reports just over 30 minutes of expected life with the CS-406 attached.

I have the CS-406 running Firmware Version: 2.0.4 - 3.0382

Hello All !

Has anyone tried APC Back-UPS models (500 or 650 VA) with CS407 and/or DS207 ?

And what about MGE's models (Protection Center and Ellipse ASR) ? Are they also naturally recognized by Synology's system software ?

Thanks for your answers,
Paul-Henri

Is the UPS shown at the status page under UPS devices?
If it is shown there, please try this:
1. Reboot your CS407 and see if the problem persists.
2. If the above is of no help, please unplug the UPS from CS407, wait for few minutes for the system to refresh then connect the UPS again.

I had the same problem with my UPS after FW upgrade. An additional reboot made it work normally again.

Loeffel, was this an answer to me? I dont have a CS-407

No the UPS is not shown in the status page. And even not after reboot or re-plugin.

I dont really care, it was just a statement that this UPS doesnt seem to be compatible.
