Failed to partition 2TB in my DS-106e

Postby Godwin » Sat Jun 05, 2010 1:45 pm

Based on this thread that Barracuda LP ST32000542AS 2.0TB is compatible to Synology NAS, I bought one and installed in my DS-106e. I then used Synology Assistant in Windows 7 tried to install the DSM. However, the process stopped after successfully formatted the system partition and reported "Failed to partition the hard drive" when it tried to format the data partition.

Can anyone please give me some hint how to overcome this?

Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the information.

It is my mistake for missing out that compatibility list.

I am no expert of this but isn't it easy to have the old models to support larger HDDs?
Even my ancient MZK-NAS01SG support larger ones like 1.5TB.
