DS File and Clound Station

DS File and Clound Station

Postby niubbo600 » Tue Aug 07, 2012 8:27 am

I'm using the DS File with the option "Cloud Station Service" enabled.
I enabled also "Sync with WIFI only".
I gout always a message in the Android notification bar: "unable to sync".
Then, if I click on the message, I access to my NAS by DS File.
The error message appears when I'm using the WIFI connection either when I'm using 3G.
Does anyone have the some issue?
Regards

I'm using Galaxy Note. I can access DS File, but can't connect Cloud Statin just after the DS File's upgrade. Using previous version it could connected andsynced. I feel the Andriod version ofDF File still need improved. PS, iPhone DS File works well in Cloud Station.

When I enter the LAN address such as 192.168.x.x, it could be connected with cloud station, and could be synced. DDNS can't...obviously it's a bug...

Can confirm there must be a bug. Using DDNS address instantly comes back with error of check network settings. I checked DSM and router logs and there is no attempted to make a connection.

Tried the WAN IP address and it worked straight away.

You should not use DDNS with DS File. You should use the Cloud Station ID or its alias; in this way you can connect to your DiskStation when you're in your LAN and when you're using 3G aswell.

The synology support asked my an account in my DS212J to check the authentication error issue.
Now it is 2 weeks and they did not find the problem.
Did someone get the "authentication error" while syncing the cloud station using DS File?

Using DDNS LAN side has never been a problem for me. Can confirm using the QC ID it works.

Hello steverhysjenks,
are you using DS File with the Cloud Station option enabled?
Which is your device? Iphone or Android?

I'm using an Android phone, Samsung Note and yes with Cloud Station enabled.

Whilst I am able to connection via wifi through the quick connect or IP addres after the initial sync things appear to not to stay in sync on the phone and I find the service stops for no reason.

Whilst trying to reset the cloud station (aim to start from scratch) it will not sync correctly and only sync 1 folder while the remainder of my Cloud station clients (laptops) continue to sync correctly.
