changing the Root Password

Postby jkostenbader » Fri Jun 10, 2011 7:50 pm

For some reason I cannot change my root password. I can log in with 'Root' and no password (after a fresh install) but when I go to change the password I get this error:

#1044 - Access denied for user ''@'localhost' to database 'mysql'

I uninstalled and reinstalled but had the same luck (or lack thereof). Using the latest of DSM and PHPAdmin software. Its annoying because I cannot create any new databases (and its unsecure). I'd take any suggestions
