Upgrading DS211j from 3.0 (1354) to 4.0 (2228)

Enhanced the stability of file based iSCSI LUN over 1TB and fixed aspect ratio for video playback in Photo Station.

Upgrading DS211j from 3.0 (1354) to 4.0 (2228)

I apologize if this question is asked already or asked often, but the search terms were too generic to yield any helpful, existing threads on this topic.

I just wanted to know if there were any risks or disadvantages to upgrading my 211j to the latest version from an older version. I am aware of several advantages/features that will come with 4.0. My main concern is that I do not want to lose the data currently stored on my NAS.

Basically:

Will my data remain intact?

Will my current configuration and settings remain intact?

Will my admittedly older, less powerful unit have any performance issues after upgrading?

Thank you in advance for your help.

Hi

To start with when thing goes wrong it's often during updating, so always do backup of all date before updating your DS.

If you want to run a upgrade more safe, some users disable any to-part services, and they properly need's an upgrade before they can run o the new DSM.

I allso tried updating my ds211j, but it didtn went well. My station i running and i can ping it, but the login screen is just a blank page in the browser and two empty tekst boxes. I can put in my login in the first one and the pw in the second and my pw is hided, so im pretty sure that thats what the boxes are fore. But i cant login and it just looks wrong, im quite sure that the update went wrong? Can anybody help me with this?

Sorry if im writing in the wrong tread.
