Sabnzbd problem

Hi everybody,

I really hope this hasn't been posted before, if it has, please point me to the right thread.

My problem is as follows: I've had sabnzbd working on a synology DS211J in combination with sickbeard. Everything worked fine for a long time but all of a sudden it just broke (I guess). I couldn't connect to the webinterface nor was anything downloading. It also made accessing websites which I hosted on my nas impossible. I first just tried stopping the package but for a few days I would just get an error that another package was being configured or installed and that I should wait. I wasn't doing anything with a different package so wasn't really sure what to do. After a few days I could stop and run the package again but nothing would happen, I still couldn't reach sabnzbd. So I deinstalled sabnzb and tried to reinstall (this only fixed accessing the websites). But when I try to install I get the message that a different package is already using that port. When I go to the sabnzbd port I get this error (even though sabnzbd isn't installed anymore):

I'm not sure what to try next. I hope someone knows how to solve this.

Don't know if you have solved this already but I am making a few assumptions to try to help you...

1. I am assuming you are using the SABnzbd package from http://synoblog.superzebulon.org/
2. I am assuming that the problem is similar to that reported here

If this is the case the logical thing would be to turn on SSH access and terminal into the NAS then run the following command:

ls -all /usr/local/var/sabnzbd/admin

This should list all the files in the SABnzbd admin directory. My listing looks like this (in part):

drwxr-xr-x 3 sabnzbd users 4096 Jul 24 00:34 .
drwxr-xr-x 4 sabnzbd users 4096 Jul 15 15:56 ..
-rw-r--r-- 1 sabnzbd users 38912 Jul 24 00:34 history1.db

You can see that the directory has read/write access for the user 'sabnzbd' and the database file "history1.db" exists and the 'sabnzbd' user also has read/write access. If this is not the case then you can adjust the permissions however based on what you described with the reinstall of SABnzbd it appears you have a package that didn't quite get removed. You can probably do a search on how to manually remove all traces of SABnzbd before proceeding with another reinstallation.
