Sickbeard NOT Re-indexing media files

Postby drpete » Fri Jun 29, 2012 1:49 pm

Hi All,

Thanks to Bud77 I have the synology box checked in Notifications part of sickbeard. However, I need to manually force a re-index if I want to see any of my new downloads. Is there something I am missing or need to install or change. My understanding is that everytime sickbeard finishes processing a download it should tell DS1512+ to re-index.

Thanks as usual,

Peter

Also just noticed this, not sure if it is part of the same problem or not. In the completed folder that SABNZB uses. There are alot of tv show episodes there. My understanding is that after downloading and it get processed and moved then the complete folders should be empty.

Your files absolutely should be moved out of your /complete/ folder upon post processing, so it definitely sounds like something is borked there. Is this with all Sickbeard downloads or only select ones?

Also, as for the first problem...out of curiosity, may I ask what you are using as your media client?

Disregard comment on the files left over in completed. Those were when I added a show and then stopped it later. I was kinda testing out sickbeard. But the indexing problem still exists, I am running a synology ds1512+ I see the files after a manual force of re-indexing, but sickbeard is not forcing synology to re-index. why?

My apologies, it was late last night when I wrote that. I meant to ask what type of media player are you using to view your downloads. I had a similar issue using WD Live boxes a few months ago after moving to DSM 4.0

Can you verify that Sickbeard isn't invoking the synoindex after a download completes? After a download completes and is post processed/moved can you check the Sickbeard log? To do so go in Sickbeard go to view log and look for the lines that start with:

POSTPROCESSER :: Executing command ['/usr/syno/bin/synoindex'

UPDATE:

Checked the log file and sickbeard is sending the re-index command line. But Synology is not re-indexing. Checked the WDTV and the folder didnt show up. checked log and sickbeard did as mentioned above. Forced a re-index and then folder and contents were there. Dont know what to do. Here is a copy of the log:

Jun-30 22:07:43 INFO CP Server Thread-8 :: Processing succeeded for /volume1/download/complete/Continuum.S01E03.720p.WEB.DL.AAC2.0.H-264/Continuum.S01E03.Wasting.Time.720p.WEB-DL.AAC2.0.h.264-ECI.mkv

Thanks for any help. Really frustrating not being able to watch any new shows without going to NAS and then forcing re-index

This might be a permission issue from user "sickbeard", I'll check

Surprisingly, I have the same issue (but since I often re-index manually, I didn't noticed)

I made some modification, but my next show will auto-download on tuesday, so we'll know at that day :)

Would I be correct in guessing that you have the WD Live set up to connect to the 1512 via the Media Server option? I found that changing the connection method to a Windows Share made all of these indexing issues go away. You may want to consider trying this until Bud can get back to you with a definitive fix for the problem.

You'll lose the ability to use the so-called "dashboard" on the WD Live, but you gain more consistent video playback and the ability to access movie ISO's at the same time.

The problem I have with windows share is the connection issues. If i dont autore-connect then it works and then I choose auto-reconnect and it works for a few times and then sometimes even with no auto-reconnect it wont connect. It connects and works 100% of the time by chosing media server. I get not issues while running a show. If I pause for too long then it wont restart and I have to choose play again and resume from last spot. But otherwise it works great.

I can not get synology to re-index otherwise it would be perfect. Also i am using the older WDTV, not the live

thanks

My fix didn't work :(

So I tried to manually launch the indexing (from command line, logged in as user 'sickbeard'), and it didn't work too

So I manually indexed the TV show folder (from command line, logged in as user 'sickbeard'), and it worked ...

Really weird, I'll check with Diaoul
