Sabnzb owns folder. Can't see folder contents

Postby drpete » Fri Jun 22, 2012 3:11 pm

Hi all

Got everything running and working with sabnzb and sick beard. I have media server running so my wdtv can watch the files. The problem is it doesn't see anything in the "tvshows" folder because sick ears owns this folder and all the subfolders are owned by sabnzb.

Do these folders need to be owned by someone else? What is the fix for this. I can't be the only one with this problem

Thanks

Peter

Ps running ds1512+ with dsm 4

How did you install those ? Manual or package ? And which ?

You should be using a user with admin right, and sabnzbd/sickbeard usually chmod the files, so unless you are connecting as "guest", thats a bit weird

I installed Ipkg thru ssh. Then added synocommunity package resource. Installed their sabnzb and sickbeard thru package on synology. Everything is working. It downloads processes etc. the folder called tvshows is owned by sickbeard. Guess I am repeating myself. Sorry. I am logging with admin and that was the account I installed packages from. My wdtv sees every folder in my share ( they are all owned by admin) but the tv shows it sees but when I enter it it says no content

I am lost

Make sure you have activated the multimedia server, and it indexes those folders

I have media server running, the folder I have all the shows go into is this:

Video/TV Shows

and a show looks like this :

Video/TV Shows/Burn Notice

When I goto indexing, it will not let me add this folder as it is in Video which is already indexed once Media Server is turned on.

Very weird, I can see everything off of the TV Shows directory ( i have other older shows in there) and I see the folder for TV Shows but when I goto enter it is says no content on WDTV

Have you tried to force a new indexing ?

Bud

You are the man. I forced a re-index and all is there. Thanks so much, I spent days playing with permissions etc.

Is this something I will always have to do or will it re-index automatically?

Thanks

In sickbeard, check the post-processing options, there is a checkbox for synology products, to automatically index the content after processing a download

It might not be this in the post-proc tab then (check the others), but I don't have access to my box yet, I'll check when I get home

The only thing I see is:

Scan and Process [scan and post-pocess any files in your Tv Download Dir? note: do not use if sabtosickbeard w/ Sabnzb+! ]

not sure if this is it. Dont understand what any of that means.

Once I find this box and check mark it, that will have sickbeard force Synology nas to index the new downloads?

thanks again,

Peter
