How to Adjust Link Speed

Postby CronoS76 » Sat Aug 11, 2012 11:22 pm

Hi,

Tonight I had a problem with my switch. For some paticular reason, My DS to my switch (linksys 1GB switch) didn't want to connect at 1 Gigabit. I had the same problem also last week on my PC, but my PC was able to fall back to 100 mbit Full Duplex. The fix on my PC (don't ask me why :) ), was the replacement of a Cat 5e with another Cat5e cable and I placed my PC in another switchport. So it lookss like that there is something wrong with the switch at 1 Gigabit

But now, my diskstation gave me exactly the same error today. Unfortunately the DS doesn't go back to 100 Mbit, when he thinks when a 1 GB connection is a possibility. I don't see an option in the Management Console to adjust link speeds. For this reason I have replaced my switch for now with a 100 MBit one. I found it strange that this option is not present.

Was there a way to do this?

Thanks
