One of the drives in my 1512+ just developed SMART failures, and DSM is telling me to take action:

However,
none of the LEDs on the NAS are alerting me to the presence of a problem! Is this an expected behaviour? Surely those 2 shiny bright LEDs (STATUS & ALERT) can be put to better use?

Running DSM 4.0-2219.
I tried rebooting the NAS, and nothing changed (GUI shows SMART error, while LEDs still not indicating the presence of an issue).
