How long does your unit take to reboot?

Postby Hansel » Wed Apr 18, 2012 10:43 pm

Hi all :)

Only had the 1512 for a week or so now and only rebooted it a couple of times, but it seems to take quite a while to come back up. I basically just want to check that's normal.

I have 5 2TB drives in there for a total of ~7TB, and of that I have 3TB free. When rebooted, the blue light flashes (as expected) along with the LAN light. Boot takes probably a good 5 or 6 minutes and I can hear the HDD's working occasionally during that time, but they don't light up on the NAS. Eventually it'll beep and the HDD lights will come on.

Is that to be expected, or is boot generally quicker?

Thanks!

I have a 211J and reboot messages indicate that it will take 600 seconds although it doesn't actually take that long but 5 minutes would be about right.
