Good question, though I doubt we'll see SATA3. Looks like the DS1512+ might be released in a few days. I'm holding off a purchase until this sees the light of day, and I'm advising my friends and associates in the market for a 4-disk NAS to do the same, not least of all because of the likelihood of USB 3.0 connectivity, and quite possibly a more powerful processor/memory configuration.

DS411 only came out in August, do you really think they'll replace it so quickly?

I think DS412 will probably come out in the summer?

With the recent release of the 12+ models, there has to be a ds2412+ coming soon, right? I wonder if there is any chance of a 16 bay 12+ model this year?

While there might/most likely will be a DS2412, I personally don't think there will be a 16-bay unit this year since the 12=bay DS3612xs is currently listed as the top of the line.

A Google search indicates it was released sometime around June/July of 2011

Has Synology released a model update in less than a year from the original release?

Maybe we will at least hear something about it before to long.

Wait 3 1/5 months and the DS2411 would have been release an entire YEAR ago. So does this mean within three months there is going to be a new model come out within 3 months.

yaps..it's a good starting point.. It should appear around June. Grrr...the waiting is killing me On the other side, by that time hard disks should be cheaper

I will be intrigued to see what Atom goes into the DS2412+, Cedar Trail D2700 or Clover Trail, or will it be a low end intel ... Worth a wait I think and as someone rightly pointed out, it gives another 3 months for the disk prices to come down, because that's got to be hurting companies like Synology.

I think DS112 has same hardware configure as DS212 but just 1-bay
same thing as DS112j to DS212j

hope will come out soon
I already have a other brand's old model NAS
but I like synology's DSM system
will buy a DS112
