Size Of A Single Folder - Spanning Multiple HDD's?

Postby norm1153 » Wed May 16, 2012 9:03 am

Greetings:

If I get a 1512+, with four 3 TB drives, and use the default SHR for configuration, can a single directory contain files that together exceed the 3 TB size of one drive? If I browse that directory via a share (NFS, SMB) from a Popcorn Hour File browser for example, will that browser display all the entries -- scrolling through?

Yes of course. for the clients your NAS just appears a s one very big disk. You dont have to care about file or folder size

With 3x3TB on SHR you'll get 6 TB of available space (1 disk redundancy)
