Basic USB Printer or WiFi

Hi,
Forgive this question if it seems basic.

I'm just trying to determine if I should be connecting up my various devices to a (new for me) HP PSC 2510 which has WiFi built in, or if I should be using the USB connection from Synology DS1512+.

What are the advantages of using the DS USB Print, vs WiFi direct?

If you connect it throw the wireless you will print wirelessly if you are in you network range, if you connect it throw the DS usb print it will allow you to print even you out of the range of your network , i mean you should be on network like a cofe and you like something you want to print it so print it and when you go home it will be there ready for you

More than just that, though that in itself is a great benefit. You have access to everything you would have access to through the USB where as when you use the wifi you will only have access to that is available through the wifi. I don't know your printer but older printers allowed for scanning only through the USB and not on the wifi. It might have been a limitation of the software but it was not available for the wifi at that point. If you have a newer printer that might not be a factor.
