Hi,

Anyone does have experience with Blackberry Playbook OS 2.0 dev beta Android player / repackaging Synology Android apps to BB Playbook?

Update - 1st test result (main function tested but not all features):
- DS cam works (live view)
- DS audio works (streaming music)
- DS file works (browsing files)
- DS finder does not work (not find DS)
- DS photo does not work (not even starts)

would be nice if Synology experts take a look at this - easy roll out of all apps to Blackberry Playbook

Agree - would it be possible to get a copy of the PlayBook version of the app you created? For now i'd be happy with DS audio and it seems that is working for you.

Really hope Synology will create an official BlackBerry app. So far I regret going with Synology due to lack of BB support.

I will upload link later today, note it is for OS2 dev beta and for testing purpose.

These applications are for evaluation purposes only converted from free Android applications to run them on the beta android player on Blackberry Playbook (OS 2.x dev beta). I neither own the code nor can provide support but will help on best effort basis if I can.

• Enable developer mode and set password. You can disable password and developer mode after installing the applications. Note down IP (wifi or USB).
• Install the BAR files to your Playbook; recommended tool for Windows: http://www.filearchivehaven.com/2011/10 ... installer/

Known issues:
• Only portrait mode
• DS photo does not launch / not working
• DS finder does not find the DS. It can be used only if you manually add the address.
• Applications try to reconnect to the previously saved address – if that is not available it takes time to display error. In some cases you may need to close the Android player or even reboot playbook (soft button after clicking on the battery icon) after such issue.

Tested functions:
• DS audio – playing & browsing music
• DS cam – live view and settings
• DS file – browsing

I came across this thread while trying to search for the DS Audio bar file for installing on my Blackberry playbook tablet.

I am running DSM 4.0 beta on my NAS. When I install the DS Audio bar file, I keep getting the message"Network is not available now".

Do I need an updated DS Audio bar file as the DS Audio app was recently updated by Synology after DSM 4.0 beta?

If so, can someone please provide either the apk file or the bar file for the updated DS Audio app.

I was repackaging the apps myself.
My results:

DS Audio 1.4 works fine.
DS Photo+ 2.0 starts and I can view the screen that has my albums.
But when I click on an album it crashes.

DS File 2.0 does not work. After installing I don't get an icon for it on the Playbook desktop. But it is there and when I launch it, it crashes the blackberry keyboard and eventually crashes itself.

DS File 1.0.3 does work fine. I can download files. I don't know what changed from 1.0.3 to 2.0

Please also add my voice to the growing # of people who want these apps for their Blackberry Playbook. Surely if we can repackage them ourselves so easily and get them to work at various level of success, it should be very little effort for Synology to make them work for the Playbook.
