DS File iPhone App No Folders visible

Same problem here. Running 3.2

Changing port to 5000/5001 works pretty well
I changed the group permission and they showed

Port 7000/7001 - no files. I've checked everything I know, but nothing when I log in.

I am able login from the outside and I've opened every port on the FW, but no files on 7000/7001

After a few hours of trying and getting no files displaying or no access, I finally got the DS File app working, both locally and remotely on my iPhone and iPad.

Here's some steps you can try:

1. Enable webDAV on port 5005.
2. Check group permissions to ensure the user has read and write access.
3. At this stage, you should be able to see you files on your local network, in DS file, via: <your-local-ip>:5005
4. To enable remote access, provided you have a remote URL already setup, you need to enable port forwarding for 5005 on your router.
5. Now, you should be able to see you files remotely, in DS file, via: <your-remote-url>:5005

Hope this helps others :)

This did it for me... Thanks!

Hi

Do I need a static IP-adress on my pc to use DS File?
If port-forwarding is needed that must be necessary or?

Thanks for your help.

Having no luck, once enabled I get a web address can't be found. Could it be that webDAV is broken. I had it working before but then it all of a sudden stopped.

Anyone else having the same issue?

Thanks

I too was getting an empty file list when using DS File on my iPhone, though I've finally fixed it :D I found this problem very odd, as the DS Audio and DS Photo+ apps worked fine :?

Here's the settings I've got enabled. Hope they'll be helpful to anyone else that has this annoying problem:

* Control Panel -> Web Services -> WebDAV tab -> enable HTTPS connection on port 5006
* Make sure your DDNS account is working properly (i.e. check the account credentials)
* Make port forwarding for port 5006 is turned on in your router.
* Make sure the firewall will allow connections to the ports which the FileStation uses.
* When logging in to DS file, don't specify a port number, but make sure HTTPS is "ON". I logged in successfully using the admin account. Once logged in you can see in the info screen that the access port is 5006.

Re: DS File iPhone App No Video on iphone

Subj says it all. Logged on locally, went to vids folder and selected a vid. Tried to view and it asks for a program to play the vid. What do I get to see the vid on iPhone? It is .avi but have many other vid formats.

Thanks, Mike

After messing with the firewall, users, groups, and web services settings I was still not able to get the file/folder list to populate in the mobile app via an external IP. Until I did the following:

I already had port 5005/5006 forwarded to 7000/7001, so I added an additional port forward:

5000 forwarded to 5005

While logging in via the DS File app on my iPhone 4s, I used [external_IP]:5000 for the address and it finally showed the files correctly.

Don't know if it's my router (wrt54g w/ dd-wrt) or something else... but nothing else seemed to work for me.

Hi,

Attn:pedrodelafiesta, simonbsays

Here is how it worked for me:

After all the settings in the Diskstation are done (according to the manual :D ), that is

The network connection is fine
WebDAV is on
privileges have been assigned
The ports5005, 5006, have been opened for the disk station
The firewall is also set to accept port 5005, 5006
The Mobile device has the DS File app

you should connect to the Diskstation accordingly:

When you are connecting from the local network (the access point, router where the Diskstation is located), use the local network connection option.
Do not use your IP (as seen from outside) because it will not work.

To be able to connect within your network using your IP, you'll have to use another access point (as long as they don't have the same Gateway) as the one the diskstation is using.

Or another Internet connection, e.g. from your carrier.

From the network ->> use the network option or IP + different Access point
From anywhere else ->> Use your ip
