What is the size of your system partition?

On my old DS207+, It got an issue for upgrading to the latest version.
The old partition system size was 600M, but (if I recalled correctly) the new partition size is about 2Go. In order to be able to upgrade my DS207+, I backup all my data, then did a full re-installation with the latest available firmware through Synology assistant.
I hope this help.

I'm just saying that old DSM are creating a 600Mo system partition (which is different of volume1) and this 600Mo are not enough to upgrade to latest DSM3.1.
There is no possibility to "resize" this hidden partition and unfortunately this only way is to do a full re-installation...

But this is maybe not the root cause of your issue.
First execute the following command under a Telnet session "df -h":
Code: Select all
df -h
Filesystem                Size      Used Available Use% Mounted on
/dev/md0                  2.3G    502.3M      1.7G  22% /
/tmp                    496.5M      2.5M    494.0M   1% /tmp
/dev/vg1000/lv            5.4T      1.3T      4.1T  24% /volume1

If the first partition is 600Mo instead of 2.3Go, then you are in trouble. The only way to upgrade you Syno to latest version will be to backup your system an do a full re-installation.

I hope this help.

Filesystem Size Used Available Use% Mounted on
/dev/md0 755.9M 513.2M 235.0M 69% /
/tmp 61.9M 1.8M 60.1M 3% /tmp
/dev/md2 457.2G 354.9G 102.2G 78% /volume1
/dev/md3 457.2G 413.8G 43.4G 91% /volume2
/volume1/opt 457.2G 354.9G 102.2G 78% /opt

Uhm /dev/md0 is 755M , would that be a problem?

Having (only) 235.0 MB available is likely a problem. I can't remember the number, but I think about 300-350 free MB were needed to allow the installation.
