Where are the pictures and videos actually stored on the system?

If I am not mistaking, Photostation utilizes a system generated "photo" shared folder when you enable Photostation. The physical location of this directory is /volume1/photo.

If you are not seeing any photos in Photostation I would recommend going into control panel > Photostation and doing a "re-index."
