User rights for each user to upload to specific folder

Postby sfo_sc » Fri Feb 20, 2009 4:21 am

I know I have to give read/write access to photo folder for each user to upload photos.
But what I want is user photo dir, I want to have UserA dir UserB dir.
UserA can upload photos to UserA dir only and not able to view UserB dir photos or delete the photos in UserB dir.
Is it possible to do that?
I want to make sure each user only has read/write access to their own folder under photo dir.

Thanks,
Simon

Greetings sfo_sc

In the current Beta firmware, it supports the ability of sub-level permissions where you can do what you are asking for. If you wish to use the Beta now, you may, or elect to wait until the production firmware is released.

Hope this helps

I see the statement that this capability has been provided (in beta some time ago), but I do not see it in DSM 3.2. While I can assign permissions by folder one key permission is not available (delete folder or file) unless I make a user an admin. Is there a way to give users the capability to deleted files and folders without making them an admin. If there is I'd sure like to know how.

Thanks,
Peter
