DS411slim and 2.5" capacity

Postby kLy » Sat Apr 16, 2011 5:17 am

Hi

I'm considering buying the DS411slim. The size, weight and power consumption really outshines everything else.

My only concern is the listed max size of 4TB.

This is certainly enough for me for the time being but I'd quite likely want to expand further in future. So my question is: If future >1TB drives are released, are they likely to be supported? Or is there some kind of hard technical/physical limitation of 2.5" drives that can't go beyond 1TB, or a hard limitation on the Synology device itself to support >4TB?

Thanks! :)
