Time Backup lost on upgrade to DSM 4.0

Postby quee0076 » Wed Apr 18, 2012 8:58 am

We've been using Time Backup on our DS1010+ since 16 months ago (what a nice long history to have accumulated!), and it's been working great. However, the other day we upgraded our box to DSM 4.0. This seemed to halt Time Backup, so I went to the package manager and upgraded Time Backup and activated it again.

However, when I now go into the Time Backup application, I just get a "Please create a new backup task" message. It looks like everything has gone! In the file browser I can see time_backup/TimeBackup/NAS_001132066DFD/task_1 which is full of subfolders with all the history, so the data is all there at least.

Is there any way of recovering the 'lost' task and making all our backup data accessible again?

Mark.

Hello

I've updated today from DSM 4.0-2198 to DSM 4.0-2219 and have the same problem.

After updating, DSM told me that the time backup package needs to update due to compatibility with the new version of dsm. Now, i've lost the time backup task...

I updated to DSM 4.0-2219 also, manually.
TimeBackup was not updated. So I updated TB as well, before any TB task was executed.
My tasks were (and are) still there.

Deleting (or corrupting?) TB tasks when run with a non updated TB-package looks like a serious bug.

i've updated TimeBackup directly after the DSM update. The only difference between us: i've made the DSM update automatically...
