SQL Server 2005

Postby Meghan_Jean » Wed May 02, 2012 2:24 pm

Good morning,

A Synology 1500 was setup to be an option for additional space to our existing servers. Our goal was to be able to save SQL backups to the Synology Server but when in SQL backup wizard you cannot save the bak files to the Synology server. When you explore out from the SQL server box you can see the Synology server and browse to the folders but just not within SQL server. Any ideas why?

The person who originally set this up is no longer an option for support so we the non-technical people are tyring to find an option to this problem along with someone who can support the Synology server.

Thanks
Meghan

You need to give your database engine account (user running sqlsrvr.exe) access to the share.
