How long to load up firmware 1157

I am trying to do a firmware update from 0942 to 1157 - from a mac computer to DS207+. I have downloaded and unpacked 1157 okay but seems to take a long time to upload it to my DS207+ to the point where I think it has hung. But the drive lights do flash but not that quickly.

How are you updating the firmware? wireless?

Try cat5e/6 copper cable 
don't use fibre myself... so can't advise any further....
