i have just setup FTP on my synology 207+ and i am having a problem with internet explorer ver 8.0.6001.18943
if i use firefox or older versions of internet explorer we can save and download media files without any problems. i have had other remote users log into FTP but they get the same error from media player (Windows Media Player cannot find the file. If you are trying to play, burn, or sync an item that is in your library, the item might point to a file that has been moved, renamed, or deleted) or if a quicktime player it comes up with a question mark.
i have loaded the lastest DSM to see if it would help however it has the same problem...
