Jumbo Frames

Postby Helveticus » Wed May 02, 2012 12:54 pm

Hi

I have a DS106e and jumbo frames could be activated with different MTU values. At the time I have daectivated jumbo frames.

Should I activate it? Now I have really slow speed, about 5MB/s at most. With jumbo frames this could get more I think.

You should activate it if you have a gigabit network (1000 mbit), if your other computers support jumbo frames (no point if they don't), and if you see a high CPU usage during file transfers.
