Hello,

I am new to synology and I have just setup my own photostation.

internally everything is working correctly. I can login with the admin and other users but externally it gives the next announcement:

You 're not authorized to use this service.

It happens on all accounts and also on the admin site .....:5000

I know it is an issue with the router or OS but maybe someone can help me a little so I can find the problem. I forwarded the 443 and 5000 port in my router and als temporally http.

Have I got to add some more things like a service or something.

It would be nice if someone could point me in the right direction.

specs: Synology 409+, fw:synology_ppc853x_409+_0959.pat, os:windows7, problem on ie8, firefox 3.5.4 and google chrome 3.0.195.38

Is it possible that windows 7 is using a different service where my credentials are not OK?

regards,

Jack

I experience the same problem. A few weeks ago I could access the controlpanel on my iphone just fine both in the wlan at home and through 3G. Now when I try to logon I get access to the login page, but I get the same error message: "you are not authorized to use this service". have cleared the cache on the Iphone, but I still can't get in. I can use the DS phot application just fine and upload photos. Does anyone have any ideas ??

Many ISPs are blocking for port 5000 (and many others).
Make a redirection in your router for example from 97 (or what you like) to 5000 and I think, you can run.
An example here, but of course I dont know your router: Image

I have the exact same issue on my DS210j. I can hit the login, but it will not let any user account in - even admin.

Anyone resolve this?

Hello,

Please try disabling https on the disk station and try again using port 5000. Disable any service that are unnecessary just for this test (Download Station, Photo Station, Web Services, File Station, etc..)

Thanks,

This looks like you have activated "auto IP blocking" on your DS and the IP of your computer is blocked.

Hi There,

I followed your suggestion and disabled HTTPS, but I the problem was present hitting the HTTP and HTTPS versions. Strangely enough, with no other changes, I was able to log in through the external IP with no other changes, however I am still seeing the same error message when logging in from outside my personal network.

I am able to hit the DS login page, but cannot get past there, which has me believe it is not a firewall issue...

This looks like it could have been the issue!

I just disabled this option (I didnt realize i turned it on), but will not be able to test it out on the PC I was having problems with until later.

Thanks for this!

EDIT/UPDATE - This was indeed the issue. Everything working as intended. Thanks again :)

I have been having this same problem for about 3 weeks... today I noticed I had several IP's in my "Block List". One of which was the IP for my work... and the other was the IP my iPhone had. After I removed these addresses from the list I was able to login again from the internet.

Hi,

I am having the eact same issue as user Jack. I've got Win7 and for some reason I can't log in as admin into my DS410J. Many users suggest switching off IP blocker etc and I'm unsure if I've accidentally switched it on, but how do I log into my server to actually switch stuff off?

Thanks for the help!

Change the IP of your PC or connect from another one (laptop etc)
