Disable Synology Firewall via Telnet?

Postby poetickinetics » Thu Sep 10, 2009 5:31 am

Does anyone know if there is a way to disable the firewall via telnet ?
(I'm using the final release of 2.2 firmware, on a CS407)

After attempting to re-enable the Media Server, my system crashed and I can't access DSM, or even folders on the server through Windows. I can access the server via telnet.
It seems as if it might be a firewall problem on the server?

I've tried using the Synology assistant and when the server is connected to my DHCP router it obtains the correct IP I have set (10.1.1.3).
When I connect my laptop directly to the server and run the Assistant, it alerts me that there is an unconfigured server. I then proceed to set it up with an IP in the same range and subnet as my Laptop. It attempts to assign the IP and then ends up back at the start, alerting me that there is an unconfigured server.

Is there a way to re-upload the firmware, without using DSM ?

Thank you.

<EDIT>

With thanks from Adair of Suynlogy, my issues have been resolved. It was not firewall related..... It was Version5 Trial of Twonky that crashed my system.
