One thing I noticed was if you get only a blue flashing light, try the reset button. Once I did that and rebooted the unit worked fine, no data loss.

FWIW, I ended up getting 2 RAM chips so if anyone needs an twin to the one I used let me know.

Dear garciamag,

I do interesting with your Samsung memory module, could you give me your contact info?

Thanks

To the ones who have implemented the memory upgrade, do you see any significant performance gains? What exactly performs better and if measurable in what amount?

I am thinking of upgrading 1 of my DS209+II devices' memory if it would have a significant performance gain on let's say iSCSI and SMB.

Thanks

Hi,
this DS's have a serial console, so you can track where is problem during boot,
many memory modules is rejected due CL timing, this DS require CL5.

Transcend DDR2 1024MB 667MHZ CL5 (JM667QSU-1G) working OK

ps: offcourse you can edit SPD EEPROM on memory module over I2C
DS110j @ Samsung HD103SI @ 1TB
DS209+II @ 2x WD10EZRX @ 1TB (RAID1) @ 1G RAM

Hello Weex

Do you see significant performance gains with the memory upped to 1GB?

Thanks in advance!
