RAID 1 vs RAID 0 - speed difference WLAN?

Postby lasse » Thu Feb 02, 2012 3:27 pm

Hi all,

I have a DS210+ running RAID 0, and I only use it for WLAN, meaning nothing is connected to the setup by Ethernet cable.
My question is if I would feel any performance increase by moving to RAID 0, or is the bottleneck already the WLAN? (up to 300 bps)?

Thank you for your support

Hi

The WLAN is the bottle neck, OFC depending on what the daily use of your DS is, and how many clients is using the WLAN at the same time (all clients share the speed of the WLAN)

But its not often that you are in a situation where the harddisk speed is an issuer, I can only think of large file copying.
