Postfix not running after mailstation update

Postby paulw » Wed Mar 17, 2010 9:04 pm

After updating to MailStation-20100317-017 on the 2.3 firmware I get this error sending mail from RoundCube:
SMT error (-1): No connection with the SMTP server (not the exact message, translated from Dutch).

My SMTP server is set to 'localhost' in the DiskStation Manager.
Running some checks I discovered the postfix process is not running:

./postfix check
postsuper: fatal: scan_dir_push: open directory defer/D: Permission denied

I am not a Unix/sendmail expert but I think this is a problem....
Please let me know your opinion and possible solutions.

Hi,

I had the same kind of problem.
I updated the Mailstation without stopping it first. And the mail did not work.
So I checked the connection with Telnet on port 25, and it did not work.
So I uninstalled the Mailstation, and then installed the previous version again.
That worked again. (Telnet OK, and mail works again)
I am going to try it also for the new one (wat to have the spamfilter), and it think (hope) it will work too.

Yes!
Deinstall and reinstall fixed the problem.
Thanks for the advise. I am running now with the new version.
