Did DS207 support seagate 1.5T drive ST1500DM003 ?

Postby pekuo » Fri May 04, 2012 2:32 pm

Because my 1.5T seagate driver ST31500541AS crashed. After RMA, there was no old model. I got another model driver ST1500DM003. I didn't see the seagate model ST1500DM003 in
your HDD Compatibility Lists. I would like to know DS207 support ST1500DM003 or not.

Thank you.

Hi

If you want a direct answer from Synoloy then you have to submit a support form here
https://myds.synology.com/support/support_form.php?lang=enu

The DSM support has ended for the DS x07 series, so I dont think that Synology will check any new hard drives to see if they work with last DSM 3.2.

SO you could hope for another user that have that hard drive and have a DS 207 could give you some feedback.
Regards Michael

Seagate ST2000DL003 2 TB. in slot 2 (format to EXT4) Basic

Please don't PM for help, use forum so all users can see answers

The ST1500DM003 is reported as compatible for others old DS models, e.g. the DS408.
As anyway your DS is already working with 1.5TB capacity drives, I would assume that the HDD in question should be working as well, and it's only matter of Synology not updating any further their compatibility list for the obsolete x07 product line.
Also, in the scmed.xml file for DSM 3.2 (on my 211j) I don't see any line regarding special settings required (like APM) for that specific model.
